Your level is calculated from your skills and stats — no experience tracking needed. As you train skills and raise stats, your level rises automatically.
Skills × 0.2 + Stats × 1.06Earn XP by killing any creature in the world. Higher‑level monsters give bonus XP, and monsters far below your level give reduced rewards.
Experience is earned only from killing other players. High risk, high reward — but dying can cost you dearly.
Reached max level? Prestige to reset to level 1 and gain permanent bonuses that stack up to 10 times.
Spend talent points in four specializations, each with four tiers that unlock as you level.

Earn 3 points per level and spend them on powerful perks across 9 categories.

You need the Ultima Online client data files (art, maps, sounds). If you don't have a UO installation, download the classic client from uo.com or use files from an existing installation.
ClassicUO is the modern, open‑source client we use. Download the latest release from classicuo.eu. Extract it to any folder.
Launch ClassicUO and set the following on the login screen:
On the ClassicUO login screen, enter a username and password. If the account doesn't exist, it will be created automatically on first login. Then create your character and enter the world!
